Service Description

RentBuy Calculator provides a web-based tool to compare the costs of renting versus buying a home in Canada. Free users can access the calculator with limited saved scenarios. Pro users ($9/month or $49 lifetime) receive unlimited saved scenarios and PDF export functionality.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you input. You agree to use this service lawfully and not to abuse, harass, or interfere with the service or other users.

Payment & Refunds

Pro subscriptions are billed via Stripe. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Lifetime purchases are non-refundable after 7 days. All prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD).

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time. We may also update these terms. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

Information We Collect

We do not collect or store any personal financial information you enter into the calculator. All calculations are performed in your browser.

For Pro users, we collect:

• Email address and payment information (processed securely via Stripe)
• Session information for authentication
• Basic usage analytics (anonymized)

Data Storage

Saved scenarios are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. We do not have access to this data. If you clear your browser data, your saved scenarios will be deleted.

Third-Party Services

We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment information. We may use analytics services to understand how users interact with our site (anonymized data only).

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Since most data is stored locally in your browser, you control it directly.
